Seeking grant for storybook project

We’ve applied for a grant to enable us to fund an exciting new initiative. If we get the grant, we will record the stories of elderly refugees and use these as the source for a series of printed storybooks that connect children with their parents’ languages and cultures. These stories will support elementary schools, libraries, local nonprofits, adult education programs, and individual refugee families. The project will also highlight the stories of Amarillo’s refugees in a dignified way for our broader community.

This project will significantly impact our focus for at least the next year. Pray for God’s will to be done in this. We believe it will enable us to honor refugee communities by telling their stories in a meaningful and helpful way. It will also connect us into deeper relationship with important refugee community leaders.
