Table Talk TONIGHT!

English lesson

It’s a bit ironic that our very first Table Talk began just a stone’s throw away from The PLACE, at Margaret Wills Elementary School in April of 2018. Our flagship program is where some of the first Face to Face mentorships were formed and where several staff members first jumped in as volunteers.

We are resuming that program on Tuesday nights beginning February 1st (TONIGHT!) from 6-7:30 at the PLACE. We’ll share some food, have conversation cards out to help you talk with refugees, and then have a very short English lesson. If you’ve been wanting to connect, Tuesdays will be the perfect chance to try that out with no strings attached. We don’t need to know if you are coming, just show up!

If talking with adults is too scary, you can help out with kids! We are providing childcare for refugee families that come, and need volunteers to help Jen each week. There is no commitment to serve all semester, just sign up for the Tuesday that works best for you. Email our childcare coordinator here and let her know you are interested.
