Karen Exhibit at DHDC

We are thrilled to announce that our local science museum – The Don Harrington Discovery Center – has just opened the first of what promises to be a series of exhibits highlighting different ethnic groups that call Amarillo home.

Don’t miss your chance to experience an immersive exhibit highlighting the music, food, traditions, and agricultural contributions of the Karen (Kah-Ren) people. RLP was honored to connect the wonderful team at DHDC with leaders in the Karen community many months ago. The two groups came up with an accurate, educational and beautiful exhibit honoring one of Amarillo’s largest groups of refugees.

If you are in our mentorship program, the Discovery Center has generously given us a set of membership cards to loan out to those who want to take their mentee to see the exhibit (and the rest of the museum too!). The cards grant free access to your family and your mentee’s family! You can check out passes by coming to The PLACE and signing one out for your visit. Turn it back in when you are done so that others may have a turn.
