John McMeans – Director of Church Engagement and Business Development

Meet our newest staff member! John has been involved with RLP as a mentor since Afghans first started arriving in Amarillo last year. He jumped in to learning Pashto, the language spoken by the largest ethnic group in Afghanistan once he started meeting with a group of men who had been placed in Amarillo after being forced to flee, many of whom left their wives and families behind. 

John’s role will involve connecting with area churches and business to build awareness of the diverse refugee populations and dream about creative ways to engage with them that brings about the flourishing of our communities. He is our first support-raised RLP staff member, and as such we would encourage those of you interested in that particular arm of RLP to consider joining John’s financial support team. John needs monthly financial partners, so please click here to sign up.
