SHALOM
Our guiding principles
While our vision statement conveys our unique contribution to the world, and our mission statement lists what we actually do, our core values reveal how we do our work. These six principles—represented by the acronym SHALOM—guide us as we carry out our mission. They epitomize the culture of Refugee Language Project.
Sincerity
We are genuine in the way we work, serve, and communicate, striving to be open with everyone about our methods and motivations.
Hospitality
As recipients of the welcome of Jesus, we generously extend welcome to everyone.
Adaptability
We remain steadfast in our mission, yet flexible and humble in response to rapidly changing needs.
Listening
We aim to understand the perspectives and experiences of displaced people and elevate their voices.
Obedience to Jesus
We depend on Jesus as we seek to faithfully love God and neighbor.
Mutuality
We value the gifts of all people and honor them as participants in community.
